28-year-old Michael Layza of Herman Sipe Road in Conover was arrested Thursday, March 28, by Conover Police Officers. He’s charged with indecent liberties with a child and first-degree statutory sex offense. Layza was confined in the Catawba County Detention Facility under no bond. A Friday District Court date was scheduled.
