Conover Man Charged With Felony Sexual-Exploitation Of Minor

The State Bureau of Investigation arrested Omar Luna-Rodriguez, 51, on Tuesday after agents searched a home at 226 Rowal Street NE in Conover.

The investigation began with an undercover operation by the U.S. Secret Service, which transferred the case to the SBI’s Computer Crimes Unit and Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force. On Tuesday, Sept. 29, SBI agents, assisted by the Conover Police Department, executed the search and identified Luna-Rodriguez as the suspect.

Luna-Rodriguez is charged with:

— three (3) counts of second degree sexual exploitation of a minor

He is being held at the Catawba County Detention Facility with no bond.
