Conley Named New District Court Judge For Alexander And Iredell Counties

Today Governor Josh Stein announced Jessie Conley to the District Court for Judicial District 32, serving Alexander and Iredell Counties. Conley is filling the vacancy created after the Honorable Bryan Corbett retired.

Conley currently works at Pressly, Thomas & Conley P.A. in Statesville and previously served as a District Court Judge for Judicial District 22 from 1990 to 1994.

“Jessie has more than four decades of legal and judicial experience, making her the perfect choice to serve District 32,” said Governor Josh Stein. “Her judgment and experience are invaluable, and I look forward to her service on the bench.” 

Conley is a former District Court Judge of the Twenty-second Judicial District. She is a 1981 graduate of Duke University and a 1984 graduate of Wake Forest University School of Law. Ms. Conley is a former criminal prosecutor and served as a District Court Judge for four years and obtained certification for juvenile hearings while on the bench. She has been actively involved in the pilot program for the Judicial District which implemented court ordered mediation settlement conferences.

Ms. Conley is a practitioner member of the North Carolina Association of Professional Family Attorneys and the North Carolina Bar Association alternative dispute resolution and family law sections. A past chairman of the Board of Directors for the Piedmont Mediation Center, Ms. Conley was an active member of the Center from 1986 until 1995.She currently serves as President of the Iredell County Bar Association.
