Fire Does Heavy Damage To Alexander County Business

November 25, 2025 By Richard C. Gilbert

A major commercial blaze in Hiddenite brought out a large number of Fire Departments and did extensive damage to the Statesville Pallet Company on Monday.

Around 6:30 pm, a fire was reported at the structure located at 351 Old Mtn RD. A lone employee still onsite, called 911 to report the fire.

Alexander County Fire Marshall Chris Hicks said last night that the fire had done heavy damage to the back of the structure. The cause is under investigation by the Fire Marshall’s Office and the NC Fire Marshall’s Office.

A half-dozen departments were dispatched as well as units from Iredell County. Some personnel stayed on the scene past midnight.

Old Mtn Road between US 64 and NC 90 was closed for hours.
