Charlotte Man Pleads Guilty To Armed Robbery In Catawba County

Marcus Deshawn Mayfield, age 31 of Charlotte, was sentenced to an active prison term of six-to-nine years following his guilty plea to robbery with a dangerous weapon and possession of a firearm by a felon. The Honorable Daniel A. Kuehnert, Superior Court Judge from Burke County, imposed the sentence in Catawba County Superior Court on Thursday, January 18th.

Mayfield met the victim at an apartment complex in Hickory according to curt documents. Video surveillance showed Mayfield pointing a handgun at the victim then taking money and a phone. Mayfield fled the scene but was later arrested by Hickory Police.
