54-year-old Sherrie Jean Edwards and 25-year-old Emily Marie Edwards, both of the same West C Street, Newton address, were arrested Friday (August 16) by Newton Police Officers. They are each charged with two felony counts of negligent child abuse with serious bodily injury. Both suspects were jailed in the Catawba County Detention Facility under $25,000 bond apiece. A Superior Court date was scheduled on Monday for both suspects.
