On Tuesday, March 25, at approximately 1:50 p.m., the NC State Highway Patrol attempted to stop a 2016 Honda Accord traveling south on US 321 in Catawba County for speeding.
The driver of the vehicle, Nazir Murice Lucky, age 26 of Charlotte, did not stop, and a vehicle chase was initiated. The Accord traveled south on US 321 for several miles before exiting onto Startown Road. While traveling south on Startown Road, the Accord lost control, drove off the left side of the road, struck a ditch, and collided with a tree. The driver attempted to flee the scene on foot but was apprehended.

Lucky is charged with felony elude, felony possession of a stolen firearm, possession of a firearm by a felon, reckless driving, misdemeanor child abuse, and several other charges. He is being held in the Catawba County Detention Center under a $100,000 bond.
