The Catawba County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed that a man died by drowning in the Catwaba River on Sunday.
Emergency crews were called around 4:30 pm to a possible drowning north of the Hudson Chapel Road bridge.
The man’s body was recovered but so far his name has not been released.
