They were arrested in connection with an ongoing investigation in which Narcotics Officers seized 60 grams of fentanyl, three grams of methamphetamine, two firearms, and drug paraphernalia. Those items were seized during a vehicle stop on U.S. Highway 321. One of the seized firearms was reported stolen from Lincoln County.
Both suspects were jailed in the Catawba County Detention Facility with bond for Shoup set at $750,000, secured, while Campos was given a $700,000 secured bond. First appearances in District Court were scheduled for Monday in Newton.
