The Catawba County Sheriff’s Office says a man was shot to death overnight near Newton.
Deputies were called to a residence on Dublin Drive in the Springdale Community around 8pm.
The victim was found suffering a fatal gunshot wound outside a home.
**Update**
The shooting victim has been identified as 21-year old Isaiah Johnson of Shelby.
Investigators are not releasing additional information as this time as they consult with the District Attorney.
