The Catawba County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed that a child who was shot Friday evening in Catawba County has passed away. The 11-year-old male died at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem.
The death is believed to be self-inflicted and accidental. Autopsy results are pending. The incident occurred along Finger Bridge Road, just south of U.S. Highway 321. The victim was airlifted from the scene.
