JAIL is a two-week intensive training designed for county jail administrators, covering topics such as jail operations, inspections, leadership, emergency preparedness, and workplace resilience. The program also provides opportunities for collaboration among participants from across the state.
Jail administrators oversee the daily operations of county detention facilities, ensuring they run safely and efficiently. The program is designed to strengthen leadership skills and provide valuable resources for both new and experienced administrators.
Sheriff Chad Pennell praised Captain Lunsford’s dedication, stating, “I congratulate Captain Lunsford on completing this challenging and rewarding program. Captain Lunsford is an outstanding jail administrator, and this training will help him continue to serve with excellence and keep Alexander County’s jail operating smoothly.”
North Carolina Sheriffs’ Association President Sheriff Ricky Buchanan also recognized this year’s graduates, noting that 50 jail administrators completed the program and commending their commitment to leadership and professionalism.
