A North Carolina Highway Patrol Trooper and at least one Caldwell County Deputy were involved in a shooting earlier today.
Officers fired and hit a man who had been involved in a crash in Highway 321 near Mission Road in Caldwell County.
The Highway Patrol and Sheriff’s Office responded after the report of an overturned vehicle around 3pm.
A man involved in the accident fired at law enforcement. Officers returned fire and the suspect was struck. No update yet on the condition of the man struck with gunfire.
