Caldwell County Woman Convicted Of Death By Distribution

The Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office has announced that Jessica Marie McMahon, age 39 of Granite Falls, was convicted this week in Caldwell County Superior Court on charges of Death by Distribution and Trafficking Heroin/Opium.

The Death by Distribution charge stems from the February 8, 2024, death of Hayli Surayah White, age 22, of Valdese. She was pronounced dead in Concord. The joint investigation by the Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office and Cabarrus County Sheriff’s Office determined that White died from acute fentanyl toxicity after obtaining the drug from McMahon in Granite Falls earlier that month.

McMahon, has a lengthy history of drug-related arrests in North Carolina,. She was sentenced to serve 90 to 120 months in prison.
