One person is dead as the result of a Deputy involved shooting in Caldwell County.
The location of the incident is Watson Road in the Gamewell Community.
A 911 caller told dispatchers that her son had a firearm and was threatening to hurt himself.
The first two Deputies arrived at the scene and encountered a 25-year-old white male behind the residence armed with a handgun. As the two deputies negotiated with the man, he raised the handgun, pointing it at both deputies. One of the deputies then discharged his firearm at the subject.
The man was pronounced deceased at the scene by emergency personnel. The Deputies were not injured. The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation is working the case.
