The Honorable Karen Eady-Williams, Superior Court Judge from Mecklenburg County, imposed terms of the active sentence after Worth entered a guilty plea.
Worth entered guilty pleas to two counts of possession of firearm by a felon, attempted obtaining property by false pretense and uttering forged instrument, altering a (vehicle) title, possession of stolen goods and misdemeanor larceny.
Worth was previously convicted of larceny after breaking/entering in December 2020 in Burke County. The sentence length for Worth was enhanced by her habitual status stemming from prior felony convictions for obtaining property by false pretense (February 2023), felony larceny after breaking & entering (December 2020) and felony larceny after breaking & entering (October 2018), all in Burke County.
The cases were investigated by the Catawba County Sheriff’s Office, Hickory Police Department and the North Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles License and Theft Bureau.Assistant District Attorney Howard Wellons prosecuted the matter for the State with aid from Legal Assistant Meredith Scott.
