A two-year old child shot outside a Burke County church last month has been released from the hospital and his father has been charged.
Daniel Vines was shot in the head on October 15th around 8:30 p.m. outside of River Valley Baptist Church in Morganton. The child was initially listed in critical condition but recovered and returned home on November 22nd.
On Monday, the Burke County Sheriff’s Office served the father, Adam Vines, the pastor at the church, with a criminal summons for failure to store a firearm to protect minors.
