Burke County Shooting Is Fatal On Monday…Updated

A fatal shooting has been reported in Burke County.

The Burke County Sheriff’s Office says they have a man in custody and charged with murder.

The shooting was reported around noon at a location off Mountain View Boulevard in Morganton.

34-year-old Teddy Justin Rathbone of Black Mountain is in custody after being arrested in McDowell County. The victim’s name has not been released.
