Burke County Man Sought After Vehicle Chase

A suspect who reportedly led police on a chase is being sought by authorities in Burke County. According to the Morganton Department of Public Safety, on Monday (February 26), Public Safety Officers initiated a traffic stop on a 1997 Infiniti I30. The driver of the vehicle was identified as 52-year-old Tracy Lee Greene of Morganton.

During the investigation, a K-9 unit arrived on scene to assist the officers. During this time, Greene began to flee from officers in his vehicle and initiated a vehicle pursuit. Officers engaged in the chase; however, chose to disengage due to Greene’s reckless driving and his identity being known.

Greene was issued a Warrant for Arrest by the Burke County Magistrate’s Office for Felony Flee to Elude Arrest and several other traffic charges. He was last seen in the area of US Highway 64 in his 1997 Infiniti I30 with a North Carolina license tag reading TMC-7033. If anyone sees Greene and/or this vehicle, do not attempt to approach the individual or vehicle and contact local law enforcement.
