
Charles Rodell Kincaid III
Charles Rodell Kincaid III, age 27 of Morganton, is charged with one count of attempted first-degree murder. Kincaid was the latest arrest in the Catawba County Sheriff’s Office’s investigation into a mass shooting at a pool party in Mountain View. He was arrested in Minnesota on June 12th.
Catawba County Assistant District Attorney Timothy Gould says Kincaid was the driver of the vehicle that transported a group of admitted gang-members to and from the shooting. One person was killed in the gunfire and eleven were wounded.
Defense attorney Patrick Keeley was appointed to represent Kincaid in the case. Keeley said Kincaid confessed to law enforcement about his involvement in the shooting including the planning of the assault.
Kincaid remains in jail without bond. He has a Burke County conviction from 2022 for felony attempting to traffic fentanyl. He was given a suspended sentence.
The others charged with attempted first-degree murder are 20-year-old Garon Nathanial Killian, 18-year-old Izaiah Mitchell, 20-year-old Toland Huff Jr., 19-year-old Ke’andre O’neal Mack and 22-year-old Zachary Micheal Bates.
