John Anthony Pons
On February 20, at approximately 9:00 a.m., deputies responded to a report of a bomb threat at a property on Misti Brook Lane. The property owner, who was not home at the time, received the threat by phone.
The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation Bomb Squad was called to assist. The property was searched, but no explosive device was found. Officers cleared the scene around 1:00 p.m.
The investigation determined that Pons made the threatening phone call. Attempts to locate him were unsuccessful, and his current whereabouts are unknown.
Pons is charged with felony false bomb report. The warrant is outstanding.
