On July 20, 2026, at 3:17 a. m., Deputies with the Burke County Sheriff’s Office responded to 3294 Barus Pond Loop, Valdese, in reference to a suspicious death.
The Burke County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating the circumstances of the death. The Sheriff’s Office has requested assistance and resources from the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation.
