A building was destroyed by fire overnight in Alexander County.
Stony Point, Taylorsville and Wittenburg Fire Departments were dispatched to a location on Carl Fox Road around 11:30 pm.
County Fire Marshall Mark Earle says the structure (an outbuilding) was destroyed and he indicated the fire was an act of arson. The building was located on a lot where the residence burned years ago.
The investigation is ongoing.
