Brzykcy Signs With Miami Marlins

Alexander Central alum Zach Brzykcy was released by the Washington Nationals on Friday and immediately signed by the Miami Marlins.

Brzykcy, a right-handed reliever, was as a non-drafted free agent out of Virginia Tech following the 2020 First-Year Player Draft. He was on the Nationals major league 40-man roster and made 26 appearances with the Major League club in 2025.

Zach was the Northwestern Conference Pitcher of the Year in 2017 for Alexander Central.
