August 1, 2026 By Richard C. Gilbert

Adam Kyle Ramsey

Brookford Police have announced a second arrest in the investigation into the death of 79-year-old Claude Wayne “Doc” Holsclaw.

On Friday, investigators announced the arrest of 33-year-old Adam Kyle Ramsey of Brookford. He’s charged with felony accessory after the fact to murder and felony concealment of death. Ramsey was arrested at his workplace in Hickory with assistance from the Hickory Police Department.

The case began on the evening of July 16 when officers responded to Holsclaw’s Brookford home for a welfare check. After he was reported missing, investigators initially believed he may have voluntarily traveled to the mountains with a friend. However, new information received the following day raised suspicions, prompting Brookford Police Chief Will Armstrong to request assistance from the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation.
