Arrest warrants are being drawn at this hour in connection to a threat to Alexander County Schools. On November 16th, a letter was intercepted by law enforcement. The letter originated at the Alexander County Correctional Institute (State Prison) in Taylorsville.
County Sheriff Chris Bowman says the State Department of Corrections has cooperated with the investigation involving an inmate that claimed in the letter to “Blow up three Alexander County Schools on December 27.”. A person of interest (an inmate) was developed in the investigation. That inmate claimed that someone else was responsible for the letter making him to look as if he had written it. Bowman said this morning that it was a third party (an inmate) who wrote the letter.
