Minton was found with multiple gunshot wounds behind Branch’s home on Spring Pointe Drive in Stony Point on Tuesday afternoon. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Sheriff Chris Bowman says the two men were known to one another and there was some sort of argument and or confrontation between them. He would not comment what the confrontation was about. What is believed to be the murder weapon has been recovered. Bowman says there is no indication that Minton was armed.
On Tuesday, a neighbor said “A man came running into my yard, yelling, call 911,call 911”. Bowman says there is no evidence that anyone else was involved in the incident. That man was the suspect, Joshua Branch.
Branch was assigned Taylorsville attorney, Robert Campbell as court appointed council.
