A threat was received involving three Alexander County Schools today according to County Sheriff Chris Bowman. Bowman says a letter was received from an inmate at the Alexander County Correctional Institute ( State Prison) today. The letter stated that three schools in Alexander County would be “blown up” on December 27th.
Bowman indicates that a “person of interest” has been identified and is being interviewed at this time. County School Superintendent Dr. Jennifer Hefner said that she and her staff are communicating with law enforcement and the threat is being taken very seriously.
