A man who is reportedly armed is barricaded himself inside a truck on Springs Road NE in Hickory near 23rd Ave. NE.
Law enforcement has responded to the scene and are reportedly engaged in a standoff with the individual. Springs Road is blocked from McDonald Parkway to Section House Road and authorities urge citizens to avoid the area until further notice.
The Catawba County Sheriff’s Office has responded with a SWAT vehicle, Hickory Police are also at the scene. Continue to check this site for updates.
