***Breaking News*** Alexander County Woman Charged With Statutory Rape

An Alexander County woman that lists a Union Grove address has been charged with statutory rape.

Kira Leanne Boyd, age 43, of Linneys Mill Road, was taken into custody Wednesday evening by Deputies with the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office. She is charged with:

Felony statutory rape of a child 15 or younger
Felony indecent liberties with a child
Felony statutory sex offense with a person who is 13,14 or 15 years old
Misdemeanor contributing to delinquency of a juvenile

Boyd is being held without bond in the Alexander County Detention Center. The investigation is ongoing and additional charges are possible.
