Body Found In Iredell County Is Identified

July 21, 2025 By Richard C. Gilbert

The Iredell County Sheriff’s Office has identified the body found last week in Statesville.

On July 16, Iredell County Deputies were dispatched to 2336 Newton Drive where human remains were found behind a residence. The deceased has been identified as 50-year-old Kevin Scott Queen of Statesville.

A potential buyer for the property discovered the remains and called 911.

Due to the state of decomposition, the deceased was not immediately identified. Investigating Detectives determined that the property was not abandoned and that someone had been living on the property.

The remains were transported to North Carolina Baptist Hospital for an autopsy. On July 18, the identity of the deceased was confirmed through medical records. As a result of evidence recovered at the scene and the results of the autopsy, Mr. Queen’s death was determined to be from natural causes.
