Caldwell County Sheriff Kevin H. Bean has announced a death investigation is underway after Deputies responded to the 2200 block of Playmore Beach Road in the Collettsville Community on Tuesday.
A person surveying hurricane damage in the area discovered a deceased individual in a wooded area in the water.
Collettsville Fire and Rescue personnel responded to the scene and worked to safely recover the body from the water. The deceased has been identified as Casey Shaun Wilcox, age 37, of Hudson.
The investigation is ongoing.
