Debra Bechtel
Bechtel has extensive experience in North Carolina local government, including her service as an Assistant District Attorney in Catawba County and 25 years with Catawba County Government, where she served as County Attorney.
In 2021, Bechtel joined the law firm of Teague Campbell to lead its Local Government Services sector, where her practice is dedicated exclusively to supporting local governments across North Carolina.
“I am honored to serve as Alexander County’s Interim County Manager,” said Bechtel. “I look forward to collaborating with the Board of Commissioners, county leadership, and the dedicated employees to continue providing efficient, high-quality services to the citizens of Alexander County. I am committed to ensuring operations and resources are managed effectively and responsibly to move the county forward.”
