The Wilkes County Sheriff’s Office responded to a breaking and entering call on Bar Mill Road in the Millers Creek Community. Upon arrival, Deputies spoke to the homeowner, who stated that they had found their garage attic steps pulled down earlier, so they “shut the steps.”
About a half hour later, the homeowner heard a loud noise, went back to the garage to find a man who had fallen out of their attic onto the garage floor. The homeowner called 911 and held the man at bay until Deputies arrived.
Derick Scott Wyatt, age 36, of North Wilkesboro, is charged with misdemeanor breaking and entering and 1st-degree trespassing and of this report remains in the Wilkes County Detention Facility.
