Atrium Health Implementing Temporary Visitor Restrictions

December 11, 2025 By Richard C. Gilbert

Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Center is implementing temporary visitor restrictions in all their healthcare facilities including in Wilkes County effective Wednesday, December 10.

These restrictions are in response to a sustained increase in respiratory viruses, such as flu and covid. The restrictions include: Children 12 and under and anyone with respiratory symptoms should not visit. Healthy children under 12 must stay with a caregiver and cannot visit other patient care areas. Also, they ask that visitors wear masks in areas where direct patient care is provided and in waiting areas.
