A man was killed in an early morning shooting today in Statesville.
Statesville Police say they responded to Fifth Street after 4 a.m. for reports of gunshots. 31-year old Shawn Darnell Whren Jr was was found inside a home with a gunshot wound. He died later at Iredell Memorial Hospital.
No word on possible suspects at this time.
Two other homicides have occurred on the same street since March.
