Alexander Couple Charged After Child Ingests Drugs

An Alexander County couple was arrested on Thursday after a 5-year-old child in their care was allowed to access and ingest a controlled substance.

The Alexander County Sheriff’s Office charged 35-year-old Kristen Hamby Taylor and 28-year old Quinton Alexander Ignasiak. Both list an Ezekiel Ave., Taylorsville address. They’re charged with felony child abuse by exposing a child to a controlled substance, resulting in ingestion. The suspects are being held in the Alexander County Detention Center under a secured bond of $75,000 each.

The condition of the child has not been released.
