Alexander County Woman Jailed For Contempt Of Court

A Taylorsville woman is being held in the Alexander County Detention Center.

47-year old Jatana Leigh Hamby was ordered to serve 15 days in custody on Monday by an Alexander County District Court Judge. She was cited for contempt of court.

Hamby has charges pending in Alexander County that include larceny and probation violations.

In Catawba County, Hamby is awaiting trial on charges that include felony obtaining property by false pretense, second-degree trespassing, possession of schedule III controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and resisting arrest.
