HIDDENITE- On Friday November 14th at approximately 10:15 p.m., the North Carolina State Highway Patrol responded to and investigated a fatal collision on Rocky Springs Road, in Alexander County.
A 2012 Toyota Rav 4 was traveling South on Rocky Springs Road, drove off the right side of the roadway and then overturned several times before colliding with a tree.
The driver of the Rav 4, Angela Reid Brown, 63, of Hiddenite, was ejected from the vehicle and succumbed to her injuries at the scene of the collision. She was not wearing her seatbelt.
The initial investigation does not indicate impairment or speed to be contributing factors. During the on-scene investigation, the roadway was closed in the area for approximately two hours.
