On June 26, the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office, in collaboration with the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office, the Taylorsville Police Department, and the North Carolina Secretary of State’s Office, executed multiple search warrants within Alexander County.
These search warrants were the result of ongoing investigations stemming from citizen complaints made to both the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office and the Taylorsville Police Department. The complaints highlighted growing concerns over the sale and distribution of illicit vaping products, some of which were discovered within the Alexander County School system.
During the execution of the search warrants, law enforcement officials seized a significant quantity of vapes similar to those found on school property. The search also yielded marijuana and cash related to the alleged illegal activity.
Below is a list of the businesses searched, along with their addresses and the contraband seized:
Taylorsville Tobacco and Vape at 851 W Main Ave Taylorsville seized 1.6 pounds of Marijuana and $5,516 in cash.
Blue Ridge Tobacco and Vape at 817 NC Hwy 16 South Taylorsville seized 1.8 pounds of Marijuana and $1,938 in cash.
Stony Point Tobacco and Vape Food Mart at 8766 NC Hwy 90 East Taylorsville seized 5.6 pounds of Marijuana, $1,269 dollars in cash and a firearm.
This joint operation underscores the commitment of local and state agencies to protect public health and safety, particularly within our schools and communities.
The investigation is ongoing, and further details may be released as they become available.
