East Alexander Middle School teacher Charity Watkins has been selected for a scholarship to travel and study about the Holocaust in Poland this summer. She is one of 40 NC teachers who will make the trip. In 2021, NC lawmakers passed a law requiring the development of Holocaust education curriculum for North Carolina schools.
