Alexander County Sheriff’s Office Warns of Vehicle Breaking And Entering Incidents In Bethlehem Community

September 5, 2025 By Richard C. Gilbert

The Alexander County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating a series of motor vehicle breaking and entering’s that have occurred in several developments within the Bethlehem Community.

The suspects are primarily targeting unlocked vehicles, entering them during nighttime hours and stealing various items of value.

To help prevent further incidents and assist with the investigation, the Sheriff’s Office urges all residents to follow these important safety steps:
• Always lock your vehicles, even when parked in your driveway or near your home.
• Remove all valuables from your vehicle and take them inside your residence.
• If you must leave items in your vehicle, make sure they are out of sight (e.g., in the trunk or under seats).

We are also asking residents to check any home surveillance footage from the night of September 3rd into the early hours of September 4th, 2025, for any suspicious activity. If you observe anything that may assist in the investigation, please contact the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office at (828) 632-2911.
