🎃 Halloween Safety Tips from Sheriff Pennell 👻
The Halloween holiday is quickly approaching, and many in Alexander County are already getting into the spooky spirit! Before you head out for trick-or-treating, haunted houses, or costume parties, Sheriff Pennell reminds everyone to keep safety in mind:
🚗 Drivers:
⏺Slow down and stay alert when driving through residential areas — even if you don’t see trick-or-treaters right away.
⏺Watch for children who may unexpectedly cross the street and always yield to pedestrians
🕯️ Trick-or-Treaters:
⏺Stay visible! Carry a flashlight, glow stick, or reflective bag so drivers can see you.
⏺Have an adult inspect all candy before eating — discard anything that looks tampered with or has unusual packaging.
