Alexander County Man Jailed Again

Michael Chad Rood, 39 of Hiddenite, is back in custody. He was detained after Probation and Parole Officers found a firearm in his possession on July 25th. A charge of possession of a firearm was filed.

Rood was arrested on June 26th for felony probation violation in Alexander County and detained in Iredell County in March for violating his registered sex-offender status. He was convicted in 2007 for felonious restraint of a minor. He served 16 months in prison.

Additional previous charges against Rood are pending in Iredell County for first-degree assault with a deadly weapon and felony first-degree burglary. In Alexander County, Rood awaits trial for charges that include felony elude arrest with a motor vehicle, assault on a government official, resisting arrest and a series of traffic-related offenses.
