Alexander County Man Detained Tuesday Afternoon

Furquan Shakeem Maynard, age 20 of Taylorsville, was arrested on Tuesday by the Catawba County Sheriff’s Office on two failure to appear warrants for larceny. He was placed in the Catawba County Jail with bond set at $1,000.

Maynard has other pending charges in Catawba County that include felony possession of a stolen firearm and driving with license revoked. A felony obtaining property by false pretense is awaiting trial in Alexander County in addition to charges in Watauga County for simple assault and communicating threats.
