Alexander County Man Back In Custody

Alexander County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested 48-year old Jeremy Lynn Benfield-Cooper of Hiddenite on Monday for violating his probation. He is being held in the Alexander County Detention Center with a bond of $7,500.

Cooper was released from prison in 2023 after serving 12.5 years for assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill or inflict serious injury.

The suspect was detained in February for disorderly conduct on school property.
