Alexander County Home Destroyed By Fire Early Friday Morning

A home was destroyed by fire overnight in Alexander County.

Shortly after midnight, Bethlehem, Ellendale and Wittenburg Fire Departments were dispatched to a residence in the 4400 block of Rink Dam Road.

According to Alexander County Fire Marshall Chris Hicks, the dwelling dating back to the early 1900’s was a total loss. The occupant of the home was able to escape the flames. Hicks says the fire is not of a suspicious nature and at least the early indication points to the fire being caused by an electrical issue.
