“No more warnings, we’re issuing citations.” Those are the words of David Huffman the local Ranger with the North Carolina Forest Service. Huffman said Tuesday that the excuse of not knowing about the ban will carry no weight.
The entire region has been under a Burn Ban since November 8th meaning that no outdoor burning is permitted and all previously issued permits have been voided.
The area was placed in State I Drought Status on November 3rd.
