Alexander County Deputies Make Drug Bust

On March 16, Deputies with the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop that resulted in the arrest of Sylvanus Sengsu Xiong and Jim Vang. During the stop, deputies seized 119.5 grams of methamphetamine.

Sylvanus Sengsu Xiong, age 33, of Hickory, is charged with:

2 counts of trafficking methamphetamine
1 count of possession with intent to manufacture, sell, and deliver methamphetamine
1 count of maintaining a vehicle for a controlled substance
1 count of possession of drug paraphernalia
Xiong is currently being held at the Alexander County Detention Center under a $250,000 secured bond. His first court appearance is scheduled for March 23.

Jim Vang, A/M, age 42, of Hickory, is charged with:
2 counts of trafficking methamphetamine
1 count of possession with intent to manufacture, sell, and deliver methamphetamine
1 count of maintaining a vehicle for a controlled substance
1 count of possession of drug paraphernalia️
1 count of driving while license revoked
Vang is currently being held at the Alexander County Detention Center under no bond. His first court appearance is scheduled for March 23.
