A registered sex-offender from Wilkes County was apprehended in Alexander County on Wednesday. Michael Anthony Greene age 58 of Boomer, was taken into custody by the Alexander County Sheriff’s Office and served a warrant for failure to inform law enforcement of an address change. He was convicted in 2019 of indecent liberties with a minor. Greene was placed in the Alexander County Detention Center overnight. He has since been transferred to the custody of the Wilkes County Sheriff’s Office.
